Our Regional Managers are the connective thread of the NZ Trade Group network. Here’s a look at what they do, why their work matters, and how they support electrical businesses every day - plus a behind-the-scenes video with Alex on the road.
Behind every strong electrical business is a network of people who understand the industry, the pressure, and the pace of day-to-day operations. For NZ Trade Group, our Regional Managers are an essential part of that support system. Their role is to stay close to members, understand what’s happening in each business, and bring the full value of the NZ Trade Group ecosystem to life - not from behind a desk, but out on the road, in workshops, offices and branches across the country.
A Regional Manager’s work is grounded in relationships. Every visit begins with a conversation about what’s working, what’s challenging, and what could make the biggest difference right now.
For some members, the focus might be around Katipolt - refining workflows, unlocking time savings, or gaining confidence with features that help streamline quoting, scheduling or communication. For others, the conversation leans toward margins, suppliers, and the advantages available through the buying power of the network.
Because they’re constantly meeting members and suppliers, Regional Managers also play an important role in strengthening the wider network. They stay in close contact with branches from J.A. Russell and Radcliffe Electrical, industry partners, and service providers, making sure information flows both ways. They hear what members need, pass on feedback, and share updates that can help electrical businesses operate more efficiently and profitably. This on-the-ground visibility keeps NZ Trade Group responsive, practical, and aligned with what sparkies are actually experiencing across the country.
The value of the role comes from being present - visiting workshops, stepping onto job sites, listening to what’s really going on, and helping members navigate the tools, training, and connections that support a healthier, more sustainable business. It’s hands-on, relationship-focused work that ensures every member, no matter where they are in their journey, knows they have someone in their corner.
To give you a closer look at what this support looks like day-to-day, here’s a short video following Alex, one of our Regional Managers, as he spends a day catching up with members and suppliers across his region.
